The Okinawa Prefecture Council of Nursing University was established in April 2023, and the first meeting of the Council was held online on Monday, September 25, at 2:00 p.m., attended by the deans of each university’s nursing school, graduate school of nursing, nursing course directors, and others responsible for nursing student training programs.

The meeting discussed the graduate credit transfer agreement and mutual enrollment system among the three universities. In addition, opinions were exchanged on various other topics, including human resource development, employment of young faculty members, collaboration in education and research within the university, FD implementation, sharing of graduate student recruitment, implementation of OSCE (objective structured clinical examination) and CBT (computer-based testing), and reasonable accommodation for students.

In the future, through this council, the three universities will systematically exchange opinions and share information, while considering joint faculty development (FD) programs and collaborative research to resolve issues related to the development of young faculty members’ research and education skills and to the development of human resources for medical care and nursing in Okinawa Prefecture.
