On September 7, 2024, the Department of Adult and Cancer Nursing held an open lecture for the public, “Palliative Care for Cancer Patients and Their Families,” in cooperation with Tomishiro Chuou Hospital (25 Ueda, Tomigushuku City). Despite the weekend, 30 people attended the lecture.

The open lectures provided information on palliative care, pain treatment to relieve cancer pain, psychological care for cancer patients, diet and nutrition during cancer treatment, rehabilitation for cancer patients, introduction of palliative care wards, home care for cancer patients, and other topics. Participants asked questions about communication to cancer patients and psychological care for cancer patients’ families, and meaningful discussions were held.
