On July 24, 2024, the Graduate School of Health Sciences, University of the Ryuykyus concluded an agreement on credit transfer with the Graduate School of Health Sciences and Nursing of Okinawa Prefectural College of Nursing and the Graduate School of Nursing of Meio university.
In December 2020, an agreement on credit transfer was concluded with the Graduate School of Health Sciences and Nursing of Okinawa Prefectural College of Nursing, and now the Graduate School of Nursing of Meio university has joined the agreement, making it possible for three nursing-related universities in Okinawa Prefecture to conclude the agreement.
The purpose of this agreement is to promote mutual exchange among graduate schools and to enhance and improve students’ education.
The agreement is expected to promote educational and research exchanges among faculty members and students by allowing graduate students to take courses and earn credits at each other’s university, thereby contributing to the development of human resources who can contribute to the improvement of healthcare in Okinawa Prefecture.

The three universities established the Okinawa Prefecture Council of Nursing Colleges in April 2023 to exchange information on nursing education and research, and to promote mutual liaison, coordination, and friendship among the universities. With this agreement, the three universities aim to further improve the quality of nursing in Okinawa Prefecture and develop high-quality healthcare human resources by strengthening their cooperative framework.
