On February 20-21, 2023, we visited the School of Health at the University of Guam to report on the results of a two-year school health policy study in the Asia-Pacific Island region. The study, conducted cooperated with the University of Guam, five other overseas universities, the WHO Western Pacific Office, and JICA Okinawa, has identified necessary strategies for promotion of school health in the Pacific Island region in the post COVID-19 era. We also expressed their gratitude to the late Dean of the School of Health, Dr. Margaret, who made a significant contribution to this research. During the visit, we proposed joint research on building strong schools and societies that can cope not only with infectious disease pandemics but also with disasters, and agreed to further joint research in the future.
