Okinawa, subtropical islands in the southwestern part of Japan, has unique diseases, not found in mainland Japan. Especially, many viral infections are demonstrated in the tumors seen in Okinawa. Our research focuses on the relationship between tumors in Okinawa and viral infections to reveal oncogenesis induced by these infectious agents. We have published our scientific findings in international academic journals.
